Scully

How funny it is that when I drew Fox Mulder of "The X-Files" fame, I drew him with such deliberate brush strokes but when I drew Dana Scully last night, I drew her like you see here. The lines and strokes are so much more loose, the feel is much more random. There is a part of me that feels like I should have drawn Scully in a pretty way and Mulder in this loose fashion, that that would be more appropriate somehow. Women are supposed to be soft and traditional, right? No, not always. These are no longer "the good ol' days" where gender roles are tightly defined, for better or worse. In the "good ol' days" a man could come home from the office to find his wife waiting with pearls secured around her pretty neck and a martini freshly mixed, ready for her man. Today, no one knows exactly how things are supposed to be. Now, instead of the wife waiting at home, she too comes home from the office just as tired as her husband and darn it, the damn cat forgot to fix their martini's again. Ah well, they'll just have to fix one for each other, retreat to the couch and watch Scully and Mulder save the world from the big bad monsters, sounds great to me.
